邱瑞祥“个体”展览海报

松美术馆将于2025年12月14日隆重推出艺术家邱瑞祥个展《个体》，将汇集包含布面与纸本在内的90余件绘画作品，展览由凯伦·史密斯担纲策展，并将持续至2026年3月8日。

展览主题“个体”以艺术家自2006年创作初期至今的一系列人物绘画创作为视角，在他的绘画中，人物常常以独自一人的形象出现，这暗示着：我们每个人在人生中都有各自必须走完的旅程。然而，邱瑞祥并非试图描绘某个可识别的具体的人，也不是要让我们为其命名。他所追寻的，是“人”的本质——每一个人物都指向人类存在中某种独特的状态：痛苦的本质、焦虑的本质、喜悦的本质、运动的本质、行动与静止的本质。他的人物绘画揭示了被种种生活习惯所包裹的个体独特性——那些注入邱瑞祥画作中的丰富情感与生命状态，既呈现着相似的共鸣，又诉说着差异的悸动。倘若艺术如同明镜，映照出人类的欲望、抱负、希望与迷惘；它形态各异的表达，也承载着社会、群体与个体的觉醒与慰藉，那么在此意义上，邱瑞祥在绘画中发现、理解并提炼驱动人的能量。

邱瑞祥的作品始终反映了他各个阶段由己及彼的个人状态，这些画面中的人物与环境始终保有距离，也从未走向主动弥合。他们丛生于此，与艺术家由身体和直觉相遇，又在精神与情感中遥遥伫立。因此，这些作品并非按照创作的时间顺序在展览中呈现，而是作为一个个独立的个体，既各自回应着艺术家数个牵动自身问题的长期探索，又以此为中心分别在展厅的不同节点汇聚。

随着创作理念的持续演进，邱瑞祥对情感状态探究得愈深入，画中人物也逐渐获得更多的内在力量。回望邱瑞祥近二十载创作生涯中遴选出的这些作品，艺术家开始更深入地思考个体在世界中意味着什么；他们如何彼此联结与交流。与此同时，当人始终意识到那种疏离感时，该如何存在？个体如何找到独立存在的力量？当与他人分离时，个体又承受着怎样的负担？ 我们被什么牵绊，又该从何处寻求解放？艺术家通过这些作品，似乎在发出提问。

我们每一个人都可能是这些形象中的某一个，那些表情，也都可能属于我们。

Qiu Ruixiang Solo Exhibition, “Every One”

Song Art Museum is set to grandly launch the solo exhibition, “Every One,” by artist Qiu Ruixiang on December 14, 2025. Curated by Karen Smith, the exhibition will feature over 90 paintings on both canvas and paper and will run until March 8, 2026.

The exhibition's theme, “Every One” (个体), offers a perspective on the artist's series of figure paintings created from his early phase in 2006 to the present. In his paintings, the figures frequently appear alone, suggesting that each of us has our own journey to take in life. Yet, Qiu Ruixiang is not attempting to depict a recognizable, specific person, nor is he asking us to name them. What he pursues is the essence of “being human” —each figure points to a unique state of human existence: of pain, anxiety, joy, movement, action, and stillness. His figure paintings reveal the individual's uniqueness that is wrapped up in various life habits —the rich emotions and states of being that infuse Qiu Ruixiang's works present both a shared resonance and a stirring of difference. If art is like a bright mirror, reflecting human desires, ambitions, hopes, and bewilderment, and its diverse expressions carry the awakening and consolation of society, the collective, and the individual, then, in this sense, Qiu Ruixiang discovers, understands, and extracts the energy that drives human actions in his painting.

Qiu Ruixiang’s work consistently reflects his personal state, moving from the self to the other, across various phases. The figures and environments in these images always maintain a distance and never actively seek to bridge the gap. They arise here, meeting the artist through body and intuition, yet standing remotely in spirit and emotion. Therefore, these works are not presented in the exhibition in chronological order; instead, as independent individuals, they each respond to the artist's long-term exploration of several core personal questions, while simultaneously converging at different points in the exhibition space centered on these questions.

As his creative ideas continue to evolve, the deeper Qiu Ruixiang delves into the exploration of emotional states, the more inner strength the figures gain. Looking back at the works selected from Qiu Ruixiang’s nearly two decades of creative career, the artist begins to think more deeply about what an individual represents in the world; how they connect and communicate with one another. At the same time, where one is perpetually aware of a sense of alienation, how should one then exist? How do individuals find the strength to stand alone? What are the burdens that this entails when separated from others? To what are we tied, and from what should we seek to liberate ourselves? Through these works, the artist seems to be posing these questions.

Each one of us could be one of these figures, and those expressions could all belong to us.

邱瑞祥，1980 年出生于陕⻄，2003 年毕业于⻄安美术学院，现工作生活于⻄安。邱瑞祥在绘画的“内部”工作，基于传统绘画的形式语素和历史性机制展开他的想象。他常常以厚重的颜料和色彩呈现未知空间中的人物形象，而这种形象是自我重复的。这种基于重复的演变需要花费数年的时间，周而复始的在画布中不断追寻、探求，甚至自我角力。放置在作品的时间线中，这是属于主体隐秘而极为缓慢的挣脱。而真正赋予这些人物当代性的是他们所呈现的心理状态，这也是这些作品最宝贵、最具洞察力和表现力的方面。他的探索以人性为基础，让人类的脆弱性和矛盾性暴露无遗。这些作品因此具有了永恒性，亦成为这位专注到极致的艺术家最独特的表达。

Qiu Ruixiang, born in 1980 in Shaanxi, graduated from Xi'an Academy of Fine Arts in 2003, and currently works and lives in Xi'an. Qiu Ruixiang works on the "interior" of painting, where he explores his imagination based on the formal elements and historical mechanisms of traditional painting. He often presents figures in unknown spaces with thick pigments and colors, and these figures are repetitive of the self. This evolution based on repetition takes years to complete, constantly searching, exploring, and even grappling with oneself on the canvas. Placed in the timeline of the artwork, this is a slow and secretive process of liberation belonging to the subject. What truly endows these figures with contemporaneity is the psychological state they present, which is the most precious, insightful, and expressive aspect of these works. His exploration is based on human nature, exposing the vulnerability and contradictions of humanity. As a result, these works possess an eternal quality and become the most unique expression of this artist's extreme focus.
